Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble” (Jn. 16:33). Troubles can come in many forms, including financial hardships.
The economic slump in society spills over into church and parachurch ministry giving, producing a financial crisis for many. Ministry expenses, salaries, utilities and the like must still be paid. Stress builds as you grapple with how to maintain ministry with limited resources.

Remember: God will provide what you need to do HIS will as you make Him and His kingdom a priority. You can learn to be content in whatever situation you find yourself. God promises wisdom to make proper decisions to those who ask.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matt. 6:33-34)
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Phil. 4:12-13)
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5)
Resource: Take these issues to the Lord in prayer and you will have the peace you need to make it through hard times (Phil. 4:6-7). Be a faithful steward with what He has given you and trust Him to supply what is needed to do HIS will.

Turning to God in prayer about finances certainly is the best thing to do, Lelia Gibbs. We not only need His provision but also His wisdom and direction to be good stewards of what we do have. He promises wisdom to those who ask (James 1:5) and direction to those who trust in the Lord rather than lean on their own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6).
