Foundational Pillars of Truth for Maintaining a Healthy Perspective Discussion Guides for small groups not only suggest what pillars of truth belong in a healthy perspective but also provide a plan for maintaining a healthy perspective using a 40 Day Challenge.
Self-help programs are limited in how effective they can be in producing lasting change, especially when the issues driving a person to such an effort are deeply engrained. We need an objective standard against which to measure ourselves and a power greater than ourselves and any negative pattern, codependence, or dysfunction that has its grip on us.
Proverbs 23:7 (NASB) says “For as he thinks within himself, so is he.” Addressing our thought patterns is therefore a good starting place but can’t end there. We need to replace those thoughts with the truth as found in God’s Word.
