Adults tend to build walls around themselves that block out unwanted feelings, keep a distance between them and other people, and hide who they really are. In teaching adults this poses a problem because these walls can also keep truth and growth opportunities from getting in.  Consequently, part of our task as teachers of adults is breaking walls down.

 

This teacher training session will help you focus on tools you can use to chisel away at those protective barriers to bring the walls down. For each of the tools, after describing it, you will stop to evaluate how well you are using that tool and then develop some goals as a department and as individual teachers for how to better implement it.
