(Matt. 5:13)<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"class2\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>You are the light of the world. . . . let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matt. 5:14-16)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As believers we need to verbally witness, <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/witnessing.htm\">communicating the Gospel message<\/a>, because &#8220;faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ&#8221; <span class=\"class2\">(Rom. 10:17)<\/span>. Consideration and compassion can pave the way. It&#8217;s a way of being the salt and light of Jesus in our communities and the world around us.<\/p>\n<p>Learn How at: <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/compassion.htm\">Consideration &amp; Compassion Showcase God&#8217;s Love for People<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please Note: You&#8217;ll find the following content in the <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools-store.com\/products\/outreach-manual\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Outreach Ministry Manual<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>How to be Salt and Light Through Consideration &amp; Compassion:<\/h2>\n<p><em>(Clicking on links below will take you to resources, some of which might be found in our affiliate stores.)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Give financially to your church&#8217;s benevolence fund, directly to unsaved individuals in need, and\/or to a relief organization that has a good balance between meeting physical needs and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.samaritanspurse.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Samaritan&#8217;s Purse<\/a> is one example.) If you give directly to people in need, usually it is best to give a gift card to a grocery store or pay the actual bill rather than give the money. Unfortunately, money sometimes gets used differently than the expressed need.<\/li>\n<li>Use vacation time to go to a devastated area due to <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/war-military-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">war<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/crisis-disasters-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">natural disaster<\/a> to help rebuild. Pray that in the process you are a witness of God&#8217;s grace.<\/li>\n<li>Get involved in community projects with non-Christians. As you work side-by-side, helping to meet needs, pray that God would open doors for you to share about Jesus with not only those you serve but those with whom you serve.<\/li>\n<li>If you can work in a clothing or food bank, use it as an opportunity to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/page\/church-supplies\/tracts?event=AFF&amp;amp;navcat=Church|Outreach|Tracts&amp;amp;p=1203836\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">distribute tracts<\/a> and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/page\/bibles\/church-and-ministry-bibles\/outreach-bibles?event=AFF&amp;amp;p=1203836\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bibles<\/a> along with the goods the people need.<\/li>\n<li>Help an unsaved neighbor who is <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/adult-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">elderly<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/visitation-outreach-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sick or shut-in<\/a> to mow the lawn, shovel the snow, pick up groceries or medicine, drive them to the doctor&#8217;s office, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Send a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianbook.com\/page\/gifts\/stationery\/greeting-cards\/sympathy?event=AFF&amp;amp;p=1203836\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sympathy card<\/a> with comfort verses from Scripture to an unsaved co-worker who is <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/people-helping-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">grieving the loss<\/a> of a loved one. Offer to bring a meal or dessert or to watch their children. Attend the viewing or funeral service to communicate your support.<\/li>\n<li>Help families of <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/visitation-outreach-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prisoners<\/a> in practical ways. Your kindness to their families could also touch the hearts of the prisoners.<\/li>\n<li>Help those in your community who have <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/special-needs-ministry-resources.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">special needs<\/a>, such as physical or mental disabilities, in practical ways.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer time at a rescue mission to serve meals to the <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/homelessness-church.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">homeless<\/a> or do other tasks to help.<\/li>\n<li>Before, during, and after helping in any of these or other ways, pray. Permeate all you do with <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/intercession.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">intercessory prayer<\/a> for the people that their greatest need, the spiritual, is also met. Pray for opportunities to share about Jesus with them, not just in deed but verbally as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be realistic. The world does have many scammers who are only out to take advantage of the goodness of people. Be wise. Check out the need. Most importantly, pray for God&#8217;s will. If you truly believe God wanted you to help and you seem to have been taken advantage of, trust God to work it for the good <span class=\"class2\">(Rom. 8:28)<\/span>. Pray for the person and forgive them.
