Whether in an official position of ministry or during the course of our everyday living as salt and light in this world, we need God’s power<\/a> to be effective. We must pull on His strength and sustenance, always remembering Jesus’ words in John 15:5<\/span>. He said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.<\/p>\n

Bible Verses about our Source of Ministry Empowerment<\/h2>\n

When we consider the following truths about God’s power, it seems rather foolish to rely on our own strength and abilities.<\/p>\n

One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.” (Ps. 62:11-12)<\/em><\/p>\n

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. (Ps. 147:5)<\/em><\/p>\n

Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. (Jer. 32:17)<\/em><\/p>\n

Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” (Lk. 18:27)<\/em><\/p>\n

Bible Verses Specifically Geared to Empowerment in Ministry<\/h2>\n

The following verses show the strength, confidence, and grace we can find when we rely on God’s power to teach, preach, witness, or serve in any other capacity.<\/p>\n

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses … (Acts 1:8)<\/em><\/p>\n

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power. (1 Cor. 2:4-5)<\/em><\/p>\n

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. (1 Cor. 4:20)<\/em><\/p>\n

I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. (Eph. 3:7)<\/em><\/p>\n

because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. (1 Thess. 1:5)<\/em><\/p>\n

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. (2 Thess. 1:11)<\/em><\/p>\n

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Tim. 1:7)<\/em><\/p>\n

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Pet. 4:11)<\/em><\/p>\n
