Our <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/ministry-focus.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">focus of attention in ministry matters<\/a> because it affects spiritual outcomes. Only when we place the attention on the Lord will we see true fruit. Remember Jesus words in <span class=\"class2\">John 15:5<\/span>. He said, &#8220;I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Lessons from John the Baptist about the Focus of Attention in Ministry<\/h2>\n<p>John the Baptist put the focus attention on Jesus, not himself. He said, &#8220;He must increase, but I must decrease.&#8221; <span class=\"class2\">(John 3:30)<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/pin\/477311260480212242\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-34806 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Jesus-increase-I-decrease.jpg\" alt=\"Jesus as the Focus of Attention - He Increases, I Decrease\" width=\"222\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"class2\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">He promoted Jesus&#8217; AGENDA, not his own. (Mk. 1:4-5; Jn. 1:35-37)<\/p>\n<p class=\"class2\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Jesus was seen as the AUTHORITY, not himself. (Mk. 1:7)<\/p>\n<p class=\"class2\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">He gave ACCLAMATION to Jesus, not making himself look superior. (Mk. 1:6-7a)<\/p>\n<p class=\"class2\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">And, Jesus got credited for any ACCOMPLISHMENTS, not himself.
