{"id":4903,"date":"2010-12-27T08:00:07","date_gmt":"2010-12-27T13:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/?p=4903"},"modified":"2025-12-31T09:40:56","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T14:40:56","slug":"new-in-christ-jesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/new-in-christ-jesus.htm","title":{"rendered":"What We Have New in Christ Jesus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jesus Christ brought about a new order <span class=\"class2\">(Heb. 9:10)<\/span> to God&#8217;s way of reconciling Himself to people.\u00a0 No longer are we bound by the law but rather <a href=\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/law-vs-grace.htm\">live in grace<\/a>.\u00a0 No longer must we make sacrifices for He is the final sacrifice, once for all.\u00a0 No longer do we need a high priest to mediate for us because, in Christ, we can each now go boldly before the throne of God.<\/p>\n<p>As believers in Jesus Christ we live in that new order.\u00a0 Here is some of what we have new in Him, when it is accomplished,\u00a0and the reaction it should stir in us based on the context of the Scripture listed:<\/p>\n<h2>What We Have New in Christ Jesus That Was Accomplished at the Cross <em>&#8212; Past<\/em><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new covenant in Jesus&#8217; blood<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(Lk. 22:20; 1 Cor. 11:25; 2 Cor. 3:6; Heb. 8:8, 13; 9:15; 12:24)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Commemorate\/remember it through the ordinance of communion as a proclamation of His death until He comes again.<\/li>\n<li>Serve in His power as a ministers of the new covenant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new man out of the two<\/strong> &#8211; refers to\u00a0bringing Jews and Gentiles together to form the church <span class=\"class2\">(Eph. 2:11-22)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Live in peace with one another despite your differences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new way of the Spirit<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(Rom. 7:6)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>No longer live in bondage to the law.<\/li>\n<li>Live\/walk\/serve in the Spirit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new and living way to enter the Most Holy Place<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(Heb. 10:19-20)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Confidently go before Him.<\/li>\n<li>Draw near to Him with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 style=\"padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px;\">The Newness We Now Can Experience in Our Every Day Lives<em> &#8212; Present<\/em><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>*** Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!\u00a0 <span class=\"class2\">(2 Cor. 5:17)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new birth into a living hope<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(1 Pet. 1:3)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Acknowledge His mercy in your life.<\/li>\n<li>Issue forth in praise to Him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new command<\/strong>\u00a0 <span class=\"class2\">(Jn. 13:34; 1 Jn. 2:8)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Follow Jesus&#8217; example in loving one another.<\/li>\n<li>Love in keeping with the truth of the command.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new life<\/strong>\u00a0 <span class=\"class2\">(Acts. 5:20; Rom. 6:4)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Tell others the full message of this new life.<\/li>\n<li>Live in accordance with that new life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new creation<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:15)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>No longer live for yourself but for Him who made you new.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t boast in your own accomplishment but make it about what He made you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new self\/nature<\/strong> <span class=\"class2\">(Eph. 4:23-24; Col. 3:10)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Live in accordance with you new nature, not the old.<\/li>\n<li>Reflect that new nature not just in what you do but also in the attitude of your mind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2 style=\"padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px;\">The New to Be Accomplished When Jesus Comes Again <em>&#8212; Future<\/em><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>*** He who was seated on the throne said, &#8220;I am making everything new!&#8221;\u00a0 <span class=\"class2\">(Rev. 21:5)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>new heaven and a new earth<\/strong>\u00a0<span class=\"class2\"> (2 Pet. 3:13-14;
