![\"Abundant](\"https:\/\/mintools.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/abundant-life.jpg\")
<\/a>\nJesus came to give us “life and have it to the full” (Jn. 10:10)<\/span>, exceedingly abundant life<\/a>. So, why might Christianity seem boring? Perhaps we get bored because we aren’t taking any risks for Jesus.\u00a0 Let me illustrate:<\/p>\n
Somebody doing a bungee jump might dive off of a bridge plummeting toward the river below.\u00a0 Just before impact, the elastic\u00a0cord yanks\u00a0him back.\u00a0 He\/she put total faith in that bungee cord.<\/p>\n
As\u00a0“bungee jumpers for Jesus” we wouldn’t be bored!\u00a0\u00a0We would be willing to leave our comfort zones and step out for Jesus … to take that leap of faith.\u00a0 We would obey Him in all situations, especially those\u00a0that are out of our control.\u00a0 We would trust Him fully.\u00a0 We would act on what we say we believe.<\/p>\n
Think of the “bungee jumpers” in Scripture:\u00a0 Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, David, etc.\u00a0 I highly doubt if they were bored.\u00a0 They went to the edge and took the plunge, being confident that God would hold on to them even though they didn’t see or feel like it.<\/p>\n
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.\u00a0 This is what the ancients were commended for.\u00a0 (Heb. 11:1-2)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Think about these questions:<\/p>\n

- What are some low risk plunges for you as a Christian?<\/li>\n
- What are some higher risk plunges for you as a Christian?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
A sure cure for boredom in the Christian life is to take some faith risks, to make a difference.\u00a0 If we never take risks, we will have little need for faith.\u00a0 We can start with the lower risk plunges.\u00a0 As we do, we will find God to be totally reliable.\u00a0 We will find Him to be all-sufficient.\u00a0 Then we will be ready to take some higher risk plunges for Him . . . and be bored no more!<\/p>\n
