Bible Verses About the Essence of True Freedom

Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38-39)

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. (Rom. 6:22)

because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Rom. 8:2)

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” (Rom. 8:15)

For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended (Rom. 13:3)

But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation (Col. 1:22)

and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. (Heb. 2:15)

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance — now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. (Heb. 9:15)

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, (Rev. 1:5)

Conclusion About True Freedom:

True freedom is something that happens in the core of our being … in our heart or soul. We are no longer in bondage to sin which destroys and leads to death. In this life we are released from the penalty and power of sin over us and one day from the very presence of sin. We are freed from a life of misery to an abundance and newness of life. We can live with inner security rather than be bound by fear. This is true freedom which we can have regardless of our physical circumstance.
